About Wayside Counseling, LLC

Embracing the pause...

Welcome to Wayside Counseling, I'm so glad you're here! At a time when we are inundated with information overload and decision fatigue, when loneliness, stress and exhaustion are at their peak, we forget the power of the pause.

We trudge along our way, our burdens growing each time we add a new stress, experience a new loss, or just simply feel discouraged, lost, and directionless. We want things to be different. We long for something better, fuller, more joy-filled. And yet, where do you start? You probably feel too weary to take the next step on your way, much less engaging in the work and effort of counseling. It just feels like One. More. Thing.

I'm here to tell you, stopping to rest is not a waste of time and effort. To pause is not to give up productivity. At Wayside Counseling, I provide a space to stop, to rest, to take stock of what you are carrying. I want to help prepare you to continue on your way. I like to think of this as active rest, or intentional waiting. Until we lay our burdens down, we can't see them clearly enough to assess if they are even worth carrying.

Let's take stock, Let's clarify your values, your goals, your needs. Let's find the tools and strategies for intentional living.

It's time to prioritize YOU!

Let's get started.

About Diana

I am a Highly Sensitive Person and a mother of three active, strong-minded little souls. I understand the day to day challenges of working to engage with my beautiful kids while still creating the space I need to maintain my inner peace and calm. I strive to achieve the same balance and wholeness that I encourage in my clients. Even so, I often fall short.

I am here to provide a nonjudgmental, safe space where clients can grow through exploring their struggles and strengths while discovering new avenues to achieve their goals. Courageous living means sharing our struggles and honoring our perceived failures as the mark of new growth.

My personal values are rooted in authenticity, honesty, vulnerability, and humor.

I hold a Master of Arts degree in Professional Counseling and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Virginia. I am certified in Perinatal Mental Health services. Additionally, I have completed advanced training in Grief Work and maternal mental health.

My goal is to tailor the counseling process to meet the individual needs of each person. I have a special interest in working with Highly Sensitive Persons. My approach is person-centered and collaborative. I walk with my clients as they bravely enter their darkest places, knowing that “the dark is not an end, but a door.” (Gayle Boss)
